The most progressive design in our high performance line up. There is a lot more going on than it appears with this board. The bottom contours are something I haven’t seen from any other shaper. Something I’m calling Flat Panel Concave. The concave is flat across each side of the stringer instead of slightly convex. Imagine a flat panel vee bottom but inverted to create concave. What this does is allow water to flow across the bottom of the board with less friction than a standard convex concave giving the feeling of glide while still holding. The FPC concave is deepest just above the back foot area and transitions into a slight vee just under the back fin with double concave inside the vee as it exits. This combination creates a Venturi effect as water flows from the large area of the deep single FPC concave and passes onto and through the fins then out the vee/double concave of the tail creating thrust. The Sith outline keeps the tail a noticeably wider which makes the overall rail line straighter keeping more of the rail engaged allowing you to ride this board a bit shorter than your standard shortboard. The slight bump in the tail pulls in the last few inches of the tail keeping the wider tail feeling loose and fast yet adding control of the speed and giving the tail a pivot point in turns. The rocker is also key to the feel of this board with a low entry at a consistent angle for smooth flow through the water. The tail rocker does the same on its exit allowing for less friction on its way out of the tail.
